Winery Recycling Hubs Update

shrink wrap
We need your help recycling winery plastics and increasing recycling rates. Our recycling partner, Agri-Plas, Inc. continues to experience a challenging recycling market.  In order to continue accepting material from the Hubs (and wineries in general), we need your help in adequately sorting the plastics which you drop off.

Recycle #4 plastics from your winery

Low-density polyethylene (#4 plastic) can show up in the winery as pallet wrap, sheet plastic (on pallets of glass, for example), bubble wrap, some shipping air cushions, cork bags, and more.

NO Labels
NO Tape
NO Trash / Trash bags
NO Strapping
NO Papers
NO Corks
NO Plastic moulds / hard plastic
NO Crinkly plastic / label backing

LIVE wineries are continuing this recycling option for all Willamette Valley wineries (regardless of LIVE membership status). To facilitate greater recycling rates, a few wineries have offered to act as recycling Hubs, including one in McMinnville!  Please read the general and Hub-specific guidelines that follow, and spread the word.

General Guidelines

  • #4 plastic ONLY - Clean / Dry / Clear.  In today's challenging recycling environment, our vendor now asks plastic to be stored indoors and must be clear.
  • Super-sacks are required. Drop your winery’s #4 plastic in super-sacks. These are available from Agri-Plas or from the HUBs below.
    • PLEASE - DO NOT leave plastic loose at a Hub. If neither you nor your local Hub have a super-sack available, please stop by Agri-Plas directly to drop off your plastic and get some super-sacks for your facility.
  • Read Hub-specific guidelines below. If you would like to offer your facility as a Hub, let us know.
  • Questions and suggestions can be directed to Kevin Green on behalf of LIVE's winery program. Email kevin@apolloni.com or call 503-914-9160.  Additionally, you can call or drop off at Agri-Plas directly (503.390.2381; 5016 Waconda Rd NE, Brooks).
