Leda Garside is a bilingual, multicultural Latina heathcare professional, with a 35 year nursing experience, with an emphasis in management, nursing research, health policy and public health. She is Clinical Services Manager of OHSU Tuality Healthcare ¡Salud! Services, and Cultural Liaison. In her role as the Cultural Liaison, she helps to define hospital-wide policies that address and promote health equity, cultural competencies and health care interpretation to assure patient safety, and quality of service. She feels a successful health system emphasizes and constantly seeks ways to decrease barriers and inequities, moreover; addressing racial, ethnic disparities in health care are essential in order to create culturally responsive services and best customer services at all levels of patient care.
