Grant Opportunity for Climate-Smart Viticultural Practices
10:00AM - 10:30AM

The Soil Inventory Project (TSIP, tsip.org) has been awarded a USDA Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities grant to facilitate implementation of regenerative agricultural practices on agricultural land in the United States. TSIP is currently seeking vineyards to implement climate-smart viticultural practices and measure the resulting soil carbon sequestration. TSIP has partnered with International Wineries for Climate Action to connect with members of sustainable winegrowing associations. The grant will provide funding for practice implementation and compensation for collecting soil samples on a per acre basis. Domestically owned vineyards growing wine grapes in California, Oregon, Washington, and New York are eligible to participate. Vineyards must be able to establish a Farm Service Agency number to receive funding through the grant. Funding is limited, meaning entry into the grant program will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us for an information session at 10 am (PT) on August 21st to learn more about the grant. We will discuss the requirements for becoming enrolled and receiving payment, practices that are funded, and any other questions you may have.

On the Webinar:

  • Kelsey Jensen – Associate Director, TSIP
  • Lowery Parker – Head of Grant Programs, TSIP
  • Arelle Oberlander – Vineyard Participants Project Manager, Sensiba
  • Julien Gervreau – Founding Board Member at IWCA, Sensiba
