LIVE is pleased to announce that it has hired a staff person who will focus on memberships throughout the Pacific Northwest. Brighid O’Keane, the Washington & Idaho Outreach Coordinator, will work from LIVE’s new office at the Walter Clore Center in Prosser, WA.

The goals of this position are to provide direct services and support to current members of LIVE in Washington and Idaho; to build the membership and collective strength throughout the region; and to facilitate relationships between vineyards, wineries, and LIVE.

Brighid will be meeting with growers, winemakers, marketers, and distributors over the course of this year and working with partners to carry out a series of educational events on topics relevant to Washington and Idaho.

Brighid has worked for over a decade in membership, outreach, and organizing for environmental nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and Thailand. Most recently, she was the deputy director for the national coalition of sustainable transportation advocacy organizations, where she collaborated on a certification program for bicycle-friendly communities. She has also worked with the fishing industry in Southeast Alaska, opened a local foods cooperative in California, and conducted sustainability audits for buildings and facilities at the University of Colorado. She grew up in Rochester, NY, near the Finger Lakes region, where she developed her interest in wine.

“I am excited to bring my experiences in nonprofit organizing and member services to LIVE,” says Brighid, “and to work with all of LIVE’s members and partners to bolster the sustainable wine industry in the Pacific Northwest.”

If you have ideas for training session topics, technical questions, or thoughts on how LIVE can best support its members, please contact Brighid or stop by the new office!
