CANCELLED: 2020 LIVE Annual Meeting
4:00PM - 10:00PM

2020 LIVE ANNUAL MEETING CANCELLATION NOTICE

After speaking with our legal team and our board of directors, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 LIVE Annual Meeting on April 28th due to the COVID-19 coronavirus situation. This decision was not taken lightly, as we know many of you look forward to this event for education and collegiality. However, we were to have speakers flying in from other states, the event was to have taken place during Oregon's state of emergency, and the outlook for April and May is uncertain.

We will elect this year's board of directors via electronic or written ballot (TBD), which is permitted under the Oregon Nonprofit Corporation Act and our bylaws. We will work with those who were scheduled to present to send resources to our members via email in the coming weeks and/or invite them back to speak next year.

Our priority is for the safety and well-being of our membership, staff, volunteers, and guests. We thank you for your understanding during this uncertain time.

Webinar: Consumer & Trade Perceptions of Sustainable Wine
4:00PM - 5:00PM

Join us to learn about recent consumer and trade research that indicates an increasing market for sustainably grown and produced wine.

LIVE is partnering with other regional organizations working on sustainable winegrowing to collaborate on research and shared messaging.  Hear why communicating about sustainable practices is important for an ever-growing segment of wine buyers and consumers.

Two of the top experts in wine industry research will present new data and insights from recent consumer and trade research on perceptions of sustainable winegrowing, certification and practices. A Wine Intelligence survey and focus groups explored national and international consumer perceptions. Full Glass Research explored similar perceptions among the trade through focus groups and a survey of the Wine Opinions Panel. A question and answer session will follow the presentations, along with some tips for communicating sustainability to trade and consumers.

Speakers:
Lulie Halstead, Chief Executive, Wine Intelligence
Christian Miller, Proprietor, Full Glass Research

Webinar - Food Forests and Living Soils
8:00PM - 9:00PM

Portland-based farmer and educator Ra will be our guest during this webinar session. We will learn about the concepts of food forests and living soils. Guests will have the chance to ask questions and interact. We want this to be a fun and loose session!

The webinar is free for all to attend. Guests are welcome to donate to Ra's GoFundMe campaign to start his own teaching farm in Oregon.

A link to the webinar will be provided to all who register. As space is limited, there is a maximum of five tickets per registration please.

From Ra:

Heya I am Ra, a brown farmer in the Pacific Northwest. Being of service is my greatest tool. For 20 years I lived off the grid and my passion has been living and teaching permaculture and indigenous styles of gardening with individuals and communities up and down the West Coast. I believe learning to live sustainably is one of the most powerful tools that connects us with the Earth, deepens our intuition, and creates an empowered environment and sense of self.
