Recycling Hub Update for #4 Winery Plastics

LIVE #4 Plastic Recycling Hubs

We have a new hub for recycling shrink wrap (#4 plastics) from your winery!

LIVE has partnered with Agri-Plas to create a solution to recycle previously unrecyclable #4 plastics. Low-density polyethylene (#4 plastic) can show up in the winery as pallet wrap, sheet plastic (on pallets of glass, for example), bubble wrap, some shipping air cushions, cork bags, and more. With the help of our hubs across the Willamette Valley and now Portland we hope to increase the recycling rate of these plastics.

Please read the general and hub-specific guidelines that follow, and spread the word.

  • #4 plastic ONLY - Clean / Dry / Clear.  In today's challenging recycling environment, our vendor now asks plastic to be stored indoors and must be clear
  • NO labels, tape, trash, trashbags, strapping, papers, corks, plastic molds, hard plastic, crinkly plastic, labeling plastic
  • Super-sacks are required. Drop your winery’s #4 plastic in super-sacks. These are available from Agri-Plas or from the hubs.
  • PLEASE - DO NOT leave plastic loose at a Hub. If neither you nor your local hub have a super-sack available, please stop by Agri-Plas directly to drop off your plastic and get some super-sacks for your facility.
  • Read hub-specific guidelines below. If you would like to offer your facility as a hub, let us know.
  • Questions and suggestions can be directed to Shaun Vrooman on behalf of LIVE's winery program. Email svrooman@adelsheimvineyard.com

Recycling Directly with Agri-Plus

You can take plastics directly to Agri-Plas at 5016 Waconda Rd NE, Brooks, OR 97305. They are open Monday-Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm.

  • What Agri-Plas accepts can change depending on recycling markets. Call ahead to check: 503.390.2381
  • Hard plastic containers are currently accepted. This can include buckets, macrobins, pick bins, etc., as long as they are mostly intact.
  • Pesticide and Herbicide containers. In addition to supporting annual OVS drop-off events, Agri-Plas can accept these materials directly from you. Triple-rinsed, no caps, no paper labels.
  • Questions about these other materials can be directed to Agri-Plas (503.390.2381). Please do not take these other materials to a hub as only the #4 PE plastics are accepted at the hubs
