Biochar Production for Vineyards, Part II

Biochar is a specialized form of charcoal made from waste woody biomass at high temperature in the absence of oxygen. It is used as an effective soil amendment to improve soil moisture and soil health, and is currently being researched as a means of carbon sequestration. As a compost additive, biochar can also help more effectively manage other organic waste streams such as grape pomace, retaining and recycling nutrients.

Webinar - Carbon Footprinting your Vineyard

Join us as we unveil a new project a year in the making! We will be introducing our membership to our new Greenhouse Gas Tool for Vineyards and Wineries. Members will now be able to assess their carbon footprint across their entire operations. Our friends at Good Company in Eugene, Oregon have developed this spreadsheet to incorporate the most current emissions factors and examine your regenerative agricultural practices.

We will send the spreadsheet ahead of the meeting to our members so you have time to familiarize yourself with it.
