Join us for an afternoon to learn about cover crops and the LIVE sustainability program in Idaho. You are welcome to sign up for one or both of these sessions offered in Caldwell on September 16th. Please note that these two events are at different locations.
1:00 - 3:00 pm LIVE Open Inspection @ Bitner Vineyards (16645 Plum Rd, Caldwell)
Are you interested in joining LIVE but want to learn more about the program and certification process? LIVE member Ron Bitner is hosting an open inspection, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions about sustainability standards, practices, and the inspection process.
3:30 - 5:00 pm Idaho Cover Crop Workshop @ Peaceful Belly Farm (20021 Hoskins Rd, Caldwell)
After the open insepection, join us down the road for an educational Idaho cover crop workshop. Cover crops are an important aspect of sustainable winegrowing. They prevent potential soil erosion and compaction, can increase soil fertility and provide organic matter, and often serve as an alternative to herbicide use. Hosted by Peaceful Belly Farm, LIVE inspector Rebecca Sweet will discuss different types of cover crops and management practices for Idaho vineyards.
